AviRings Derby PRO 2026 Tender
AviRings Derby Pro is a unique one-loft-race with young pigeons, characterized by the use of state-of-the-art electronic equipment for pigeon racing. Our innovative technical approach will provide participants of the AviRings Derby with current and transparent information about their pigeons. AviRings Derby is different from other races, especially because:
- GUARANTEES 24/7 live stream from the loft and photos & videos of individual young pigeons
- OFFERS darkening and lightening of the loft in the training phase
Participation is limited to associated members of the AviRings Derby Club, which also serves as the race’s organizer. Natural and legal persons can participate. Participating pigeons must wear an official closed ring dated 2026.
Participation in the “AviRings Derby Pro 2026” competitions requires a correct and complete registration in advance.
The registration fee for one pigeon is set to 250 €. If one participant sends a (small) team of 5 pigeons, the registration fee is 1000 € (1 pigeon free). In 2026, we also offer a large team of 11 pigeons, the registration fee is 2000 € (3 pigeons free). All pigeons are activated and can win prizes. There is additional activation required, and all pigeons are participating in all 8 races, according to the racing plan.
The end of registration can be announced when loft capacities are reached. Registration fee must accompany bird(s) upon arrival or be prepaid.
The space in the loft is assured for 2.750 pigeons. Places will be provided on a first-come, first-served principle, whereby places will be guaranteed to teams that have been registered and paid the registration fee first.
Registrations can be sent to the AviRings Derby Club:

Every user/participant will have access to the AviRings derby app, where they can check information about their pigeons and the whole competition in general.
Collection of Pigeons
Delivery of registered and paid pigeons must be made from 7/2/2026 to 3/5/2026. Pigeons must be equipped with the TRACES documentation, whereas the “consignee” should be selected “Klub AviRings Derby” ISO Code = SI.
Delivery can be conducted in person, using animal transport, or through collection locations in each country on specific dates.
Delivered pigeons must come with an ownership card and a correctly completed pedigree, and filled-out entry form (attachment to this document).
Pigeons that are not delivered with both a pedigree and a ring card before the first official race will not be eligible to win any prizes. In addition, the owners will not be entitled to receive any auction proceeds from the sale of such pigeons. Therefore, it is very important that each participant delivers the pigeon together with its ring card and pedigree. Pedigrees will be published on the website shortly before the final race.
Pigeons can be delivered only if they are at least 28 days old and have been vaccinated against paramyxovirus before delivery. We recommend vaccination against rotavirus as well.
Flight Direction and Flight Schedule
The AviRings Derby organizes its competition flights from the north-east direction, which means that the pigeons must fly across Hungary.
The release point for the final race (501 km) is planned at the border between Ukraine and Hungary, located in the far north-eastern part of Hungary. From there, the pigeons must cross Hungary diagonally, entering Slovenia in the south-western part of Hungary before continuing toward the loft.
In the period between acclimatization and the final flights (3 September till 20 September), pigeons will have the training and intermediate distance flights (AviRings races). In the 2026 season, AviRings Derby PRO tends to organise 8 official races and 13. training tosses and several pre-training sessions in short distances, up to 1-8 km, which will not be announced in front, and where the releases will be held in more groups. Remark: The organizer has the right to change and adjust the flight schedule with respect to weather conditions or any other condition out of the organizer's control, and may endanger the safety of the pigeons.
The organizer explicitly reserves the right to change the schedule of training and races. If required, additional training can be organized. Training sessions that are not carried out are usually not replaced. Races, inclusive of the final flight and, respectively, the 3 final races, can be carried out on different dates if they can’t be realized on their planned dates (due to weather conditions, etc.). Overall ranking (for example, the Ace Pigeon competition) is based only on races that have been realized.
Prizes
The prize pool in 2026 is 213.000 € and is valid for 2.750 registered and paid pigeons. In case of fewer registered/paid pigeons, the prize money will be adjusted accordingly in percentages. In this case, the organizer will announce the changes in due time before the final flight. Monetary prizes will be paid only through a bank transfer.
In every category, normally at least the first 3 pigeons get a trophy and a diploma; money prizes distribution is explained below.

AviRings Final Races (3 races above 500km)
The AviRings Derby PRO final flight consists of 3 races from distances of at least 500 km. That means that pigeons compete in 3x500km races. The pigeon with the lowest total time in those three races will be the final winner of the AviRings Derby Pro 2026 season.
Final Races - 3 Races (>500km)
The final races will be – if conditions permit – started from the distance of approx. 501 km, offering a fair test for pigeons’ skills. The release of pigeons will be scheduled for the morning hours, according to the organizer’s judgment.
The first final race of the AviRings Derby Pro 2026 is planned for September 3th, second on September 12th, and the last one on September 20th. If the final races can’t be realized on planned dates, for example, due to the bad weather conditions, it will be rescheduled. The organizer will announce the new date in due time. Monetary and non-monetary rewards will be given for the final races. The ranking is determined by the arrival time of pigeons, approximately overall standings on the total flight time. If more pigeons share the same time, they will also share the same rank. The prizes for such ranks will be shared equally in this case. Fancier of the Race and Master Fancier - Team competition
The Master Fancier Competition is an advanced version of the Jersey Cup, starting from the 2025 season.
Based on the experience gained during the 2025 season, the awards for the team competition will be increased in 2026, and the competition conditions will be adjusted accordingly.
The Master Fancier Competition rewards the best fanciers based on team performance.
Team Structure
- A team may consist of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 pigeons.
- All teams must be declared before the first official race.
- Fanciers who have entered more than 10 pigeons may create multiple teams (A, B, C, etc.) according to their preference, each with up to 10 pigeons.
Joint Teams for Small Participants
“Small” fanciers or participants who send only one small team (up to 5 pigeons) are allowed to form joint teams for the purposes of the Fancier of the Race and Master Fancier competition.
- Two participants who each send a maximum of 5 pigeons to the 2026 AviRings Derby Pro may agree to join forces and form one joint team of up to 10 pigeons.
- This option applies only to the Fancier of the Race and Master Fancier competitions.
- Any prize money earned by such a joint team will be automatically divided 50:50 between both participants.
Scoring System
- In each official race, the total flight time of the two best pigeons from the team counts toward both the Fancier of the Race and the Master Fancier Competition.
- The best single-race result earns the title “Fancier of the Race.”
- The accumulated results of the Fancier of the Race standings over the season determine the final Master Fancier rankings after 8 official races.
Awards
- Each of the eight “Fanciers of the Race” will be awarded a free small team of 5 pigeons for the 2027 AviRings Derby PRO edition. Total prize value: 8.000 € for Fancier of the Race competition.
- The price pool for Master Fancier competition is 41.250 € and is distributed as follows:

Lucky Loser
The Lucky Loser Award, which was introduced in 2025, received a very positive response; therefore, we have decided to continue this entertaining competition.
The owner of the pigeon that finishes in 99th place in an official race will receive a free pigeon for the 2027 edition of the race.
The total prize pool for the Lucky Loser Award is 2.000 €.
Auction
Pigeons that successfully finish the program (final races) will be auctioned online.
Pigeons are normally auctioned at AviRings Auction (an auction portal which is part of the AviRings group). The gender of the young pigeons at the auction is only presumed, and the auction organizer is not responsible for the wrong gender presumption.
In this case, auction proceeds will be shared between the organizer and the participant who originally registered the pigeon (50:50 share). Pre-assumption for dividing the proceeds is delivered pedigree and a ring card, according to the condition described at the beginning of that document. Owners will not be entitled to receive any auction proceeds from the sale of pigeons without delivered pedigrees.
The auction will be announced in due time through the website: https://derby.avirings.com.
Pigeons that are not sold in the first attempt will be auctioned later for the second time in the AviRings auction. If they are not sold again, they become AviRings Derby's property.
Participants’ shares will be paid through bank transfers – normally, fanciers should claim the payout.
Some pigeons (with interesting results) can also be auctioned at other online auctions by our partners (for example, PIPA). In this case, auction proceeds will be shared between the derby organizer, participant, and auction partner in the following shares: 30:35:35. Before dividing, from each pigeon winning amount will be deducted the general costs of the organization of such auction in a proportional amount (photos, DNK, transport costs, etc.).
Other
If a pigeon gets lost in the loft surroundings during training, intermediate races, or the final flights, the registration fee is not refunded. In this case, it is not possible to register and deliver a replacement pigeon.
The organizer reserves the right to cancel all flights. If one or two of the final races of the AviRings Derby PRO 2026 are cancelled, the results for the final cup will be calculated from two 500 km races, respectively from the semi-final and final race. If none of the 500 km races are held, paid fees, reduced by all organizers’ expenses, will be refunded.
All the pigeons collected up to that point will be auctioned online at https://derby.avirings.com. 50% of the auction proceeds will go to the participant and 50% to the organizer. If some of the scheduled flight 1-5 are cancelled, no registration fee will be refunded.
Pigeons will be registered for the races with an electronic system “AviRings Live”, created by the company AviRings d. o. o., Murska Sobota.
Ranking lists and Results
A ranking list will be created for each AviRings intermediate Race, semi-final race, and final races. The race will be finished when the majority of all released pigeons arrive back at the loft. In this manner, races will be open at least 8 hours from the time of release (short races); if 15% or more pigeons are still missing till the end of the day, the race will be prolonged to the following day (respectively days). There is no dead time; the clock will be running until the race is finished. The announced prize fund will be given out to the 50th place, regardless of this.
In 2026, the pigeons' ring numbers will not appear on the website/ranking list. Every pigeon will get a nickname or code upon arrival in the AviRings Derby lofts. The decoding system will be known to the owner, and after the last race, the coding system will be removed. Why did we decide on a coding system? A lot of derby pigeons were captured and never released. Due to the information about the pigeon on our website, the intention to release the pigeon or report the “missing” pigeon was very low. Our measure with the decoding system is a step in the direction to protect the identity of pigeons and providing equal treatment for all pigeons.
All results are published on https://derby.avirings.com/. Live results are available at https://derby.avirings.com/ and https://live.avirings.com/.
Participants are responsible for equipping registered and sent pigeons with a pedigree and ring card. Pigeons without a delivered pedigree and ring cards will not be able to win any prizes.
AviRings Derby does not offer any guarantee that the information in the pedigree documents is correct.
Final provisions
