Race: Hollad_1 (79.14 km)

Today we had training from 80km. At the releasing location, it was nice “pigeon” weather. Pigeons started without making even one circle in the direction of AviRings Derby loft.

The first group was very fast (1335 m/min), but it was very soon apparent that the birds of prey most probably attacked pigeons because they were coming in small groups. After 2 hours of flight, 1000 from 1201 pigeons were home. The sun was intense; however, single birds were still coming, obviously scared and dehydrated.

We are hoping that most of the still missing pigeons will return. We will give them an additional break to recover.  Overall, we can summarize: training turned out harder than expected, but on the other hand, it was an excellent school for pigeons, new valuable experiences for the complex program yet to come.
