AviRings Derby is a unique one-loft-race with young pigeons, characterized by the use of state-of-the-art electronic equipment for pigeon racing. Our innovative technical approach will provide participants of the AviRings Derby with current and transparent information about their pigeons. AviRings Derby is different from other races, especially because:
Participation is limited to associated members of the AviRings Derby Club, which also serves as the race’s organizer. Natural and legal persons can participate. Participating pigeons must wear a closed ring of an association of sports homing pigeons breeders clubs that is a member of the international association (FCI). Pigeons must wear rings dated 2023.
Participation in the “AviRings Derby 2023” competitions requires a correct and complete registration in advance.
The registration fee for one pigeon is set to 125 €. If one participant sends 6 or more pigeons, the registration fee is reduced to 100 € per pigeon. All pigeons are activated and can win prizes; only for the Ultimate 600 Race, if a participant decides to send the pigeon to that bonus race, he has to pay activation before the race. The end of registration can be announced when loft capacities are reached.

Delivery of registered and paid pigeons must be made from 18/2/2023 to 15/5/2023. Pigeons must be equipped with the TRACES documentation, whereas the “consignee” should be selected “Klub AviRings Derby” ISO Code = SI.
Delivery can be conducted in person, using animal transport, or through collection locations in each country on specific dates.
Delivered pigeons must come with an ownership card and a correctly completed pedigree. Pigeons without delivered pedigree and ring card will not be able to win any prizes, so it is very important that with the pigeon, the participant also delivers the ring card and pedigree. Pedigrees will be published on the website just before the final flight.
Pigeons can be delivered only if they are at least 28 days old and have been vaccinated against paramyxovirus before delivery. We recommend vaccination against rotavirus as well.
After the final race of 520 km, we will organize a bonus race from a distance of over 600 km. This race will be organized at least 12 days after the final race, and if the number of activated pigeons for the bonus race is higher than 200.
The first 40 pigeons from the final race, as well as the first 10 ace pigeons and the first 10 3-race cup pigeons, will not participate in this race by default, which means these pigeons will go straight to the auction.
All other pigeons can be sent to the Ultimate 600 race by their participant by paying for the online activation of their pigeons.
The activation fee depends on the number of returned pigeons from the final race and will be known soon after the final race.
From the activation money, we will first cover the costs of the race and the rest will go to the prize money for the ultimate 600 race. The prize money will be known a few days before the race occurs.
Not-activated pigeons for Ultimate 600 race will not take part in the race and will go the auction.
The results of Ultimate 600 race do not aim for ace pigeon competition, 3 -races cup, and average speed ranking.
The organizer will ensure that for every official race, approximately 20 pigeons will carrying the AviRings GPS rings. These pigeons will compete normally with other pigeons, however, they will not be in aiming for any of the prizes.
The flying routes gathered with the GPS rings will be analyzed and shown to the participants after the race.
Participants can also lease a GPS ring for their pigeon. The rent costs for alle AviRings races, semi-final and final flight are 100 € per pigeon. In case this pigeon gets lost, rent will not be refunded.
In the period between acclimatization and the final flight (10/9/2023), pigeons will have the training and intermediate distance flights (AviRings races) according to the planned schedule below:

The organizer explicitly reserves the right to change the schedule of training and races. If required, additional training can be organized. Trainings that are not carried out are usually not replaced. Races, inclusive the final flight and respectively Ultimate race, can be carried out on different dates if they can’t be realized on their planned dates (due to weather conditions etc.). Overall ranking (for example, the Ace Pigeon competition) is based only on races that have been realized.
All pigeons compete for prizes in official races. On first 4 races, we have prizes for first three places:

Three best activated pigeons on 4 AviRings Races, semi-final race and the final flight (overall ranking) will be rewarded. Pigeons are ranked first according to the place they achieved and then according to the Ace points (achieved on AviRings Races and the final flight). The top three pigeons will get the “Ace Pigeon AviRings Derby 2023” trophy and top five pigeons will get the following prizes:

Pigeons compete in three races (320km, 400km and 520km) for “3-races” ace pigeon. The pigeon with the lowest total time in those 3 races will be the winner of AviRings “3-races” Cup competition.

The final race will be – if conditions permit – started from a distance of approx. 520km, offering a fair test for pigeons’ skills. The release of pigeons will be scheduled for the morning hours according to the organizer’s judgment.
The final race of the AviRings Derby 2023 is planned for September 10. If final race can’t be realized on September 10, 2023 due to certain conditions, it will be re-scheduled. Organizer will announce the new date in due time. Monetary and non-monetary rewards will be given for the final race. The ranking is determined by the arrival time of pigeons. If more pigeons share the same time of arrival, they will also share the same rank.
The prizes for such ranks will be shared equally in this case.

The prize pool, as described above, is valid for 1.900 registered and paid pigeons. In case of fewer registered/paid pigeons, the prize money will be adjusted accordingly in percentages. In this case, the organizer will announce the changes in due time before the final flight. Monetary prizes will only be paid through a bank transfer.
Pigeons that successfully finish the program (final race or even ultimate race) will be auctioned online.
Pigeons are normally auctioned at AviRings Auction (auction portal which is part of the AviRings group). In this case, auction proceeds will be shared between the organizer and the participant who originally registered the pigeon (50:50 share). Participants’ shares will be paid through bank transfers. The auction will be announced in due time through the website: https://derby.avirings.com.
Pigeons that are not sold in the first attempt will be auctioned later for the second time in the AviRings auction. If they are not sold again, they become AviRings Derby's property.
Some pigeons (with interesting results) can also be auctioned at other online auctions by our partners (for example PIPA). In this case, auction proceeds will be shared between the derby organizer, participant, and auction partner in the following shares: 30:35:35.
Each participant with pigeons that have interesting results will be asked if he agrees to sell the pigeon on the partner’s auction portal. In case of refusal, the pigeon will be sold at AviRings Auction, according to the described conditions above.
If a pigeon gets lost in the loft surroundings, during trainings, AviRings Races, or the final flight respectively ultimate race, the registration fee is not refunded. In this case, it is not possible to register and deliver a replacement pigeon.
Organizer reserves the right to cancel all flights. If the final race of the AviRings Derby 2023 is canceled, paid fees, reduced by all organizer’s expenses, will be refunded. All the pigeons collected up to that point will be put up for auction online at https://derby.avirings.com. 50% of the auction proceeds will go to the participant and 50% to the organizer. If other flights are cancelled, no registration fee will be refunded.
Pigeons will be registered for the races with an electronic system “AviRings Live”, created by the company AviRings d. o. o., Murska Sobota.
A ranking list will be created for each AviRings Race, semi-finale race, final race and ultimate 600 race. The race is finished when 33,5% of all released pigeons arrive back to the loft. The announced prize fund will be given out to 80th place regardless of this.
It is the responsibility of participants to equip registered and sent pigeons with a pedigree and ring card. Pigeons without delivered pedigree and ring card will not be able to win any prizes.
AviRings Derby does not offer any guarantee that the information in pedigree documents is correct.
If any part of this public announcement is or becomes invalid, or if this public announcement contains any gaps, this does not affect the validity of the announcement. Instead of any inefficient provision or gap in the announcement, a new provision will be issued based on an agreement between the club and participants in specific conditions. Legislative provisions apply if this is impossible to achieve with a supplement explanation.
By registering, participants accept all terms & conditions of this public announcement as binding. Legal proceedings are excluded.
