RACE 5 — A true qualification test

Race 5 of the AviRings Derby PRO turned out to be one of the hardest challenges of the season.

The pigeons faced unfavorable winds and temperatures rising above 30°C, creating extremely demanding conditions over the entire route.

The first pigeons managed to complete the course in approximately 5½ hours — an incredible performance considering the conditions. 💪

But this was certainly not an easy race for the field.

On the first day, only 39% of the pigeons managed to return to the loft.

The second day brought a remarkable wave of arrivals. 883 additional pigeons made it home, bringing the total number of returned pigeons to 1,733 pigeons by the end of Day 2.

And even after that, more pigeons continued to arrive.

When the race was officially closed, 1,747 out of 2,206 pigeons were back home — a total return rate of 79%.

Every pigeon that returned from this extremely demanding race deserves enormous respect. ❤️🕊️

🏆 CONGRATULATIONS TO THE RACE 5 WINNERS!

🥇 1st Place — Van der Linde Hubert

A very special congratulations to Van der Linde Hubert, whose winning pigeon DV-2026-F951-01 achieved the highest speed of the race - 1,211 m/min

And Hubert's success didn't stop there... He also won the “Fancier of the Race” challenge — our team competition!

🥈 2nd Place — Ahmet Cavdar

An excellent performance from Ahmet Cavdar of Turkey, finishing just 3 seconds behind the winner!

What a close finish in such a demanding race.

🥉 3rd Place — Heinrich Meier

Germany takes another podium position, with Heinrich Meier securing an impressive 3rd place. Congratulations!

And another amazing result came from Uwe Wollitzer & Big Andy, who achieved 4th place in the race and finished 2nd in the Fancier of the Race competition.

But after a race like this, we don't want to count only the winners.

WE HAVE TO APPLAUD EVERY SINGLE PIGEON THAT CAME BACK.

This was not an ordinary race.

The pigeons had to fight against unfavorable winds, temperatures above 30°C and an extremely demanding route. Every pigeon that found its way back to the loft and qualified for the final races deserves enormous respect.

The final races will demand everything from the pigeons — speed, endurance, orientation, recovery and the ability to perform again and again over 500 kilometres.

When the final podium is decided, only the pigeons capable of performing at the highest level throughout this ultimate test will remain.
