- Advanced Loft Management: Darkening and lightening systems are utilized during the training phase to achieve optimal conditioning.
- Full Transparency: actual info about the bird is available in the app
Participation is limited to associated members of the AviRings Derby Club, which also serves as the race's organizer. Natural and legal persons can participate. Participating pigeons must wear an official closed ring dated 2025.
Participation in the "AviRings Derby Pro 2025" competitions requires a correct and complete registration to be submitted in advance.
The registration fee for one pigeon is set at 250 €. If one participant sends a team of 5 pigeons, the registration fee is 1.000 € (1 pigeon free). All pigeons are activated and can win prizes. There is no additional activation required, and pigeons are participating in all 9 races, as outlined in the racing plan.
The end of registration can be announced when the loft capacities are reached.
The space in the loft is limited to a maximum of 2.750 pigeons. Places will be provided on a first-come, first-served principle, whereby places will be guaranteed to teams that have been registered and paid the registration fee first.

Pigeon Delivery (Collection)
Delivery Window: February 12 – May 15, 2025
Pigeons must be:
- At least 28 days old
- Vaccinated against paramyxovirus (required) and preferably rotavirus
- Delivered with a ring card and a completed pedigree
Without these, pigeons are ineligible for prizes. Documentation via TRACES must state “Klub AviRings Derby” as the consignee (ISO Code: SI). Delivery can be made in person, via animal transport, or through designated collection points.
Pigeons without a delivered pedigree and ring card till the first official race will not be able to win any prizes, so it is essential that the participant also gives the ring card and pedigree with the pigeon. Pedigrees will be published on the website just before the final flight.

Remark: The organizer reserves the right to modify and adjust the flight schedule due to weather conditions or any other unforeseen circumstances beyond the organizer's control that may endanger the safety of the pigeons.
The organizer reserves the right to modify the training and race schedule. If required, additional training can be organized. Trainings that are not carried out are usually not replaced. Races, inclusive of the final flight and the three final races, can be carried out on different dates if they cannot be realized on their planned dates (due to weather conditions, etc.). Overall ranking (for example, the Ace Pigeon competition) is based solely on completed races.

Final Races (Each 505 km: Final 1, Final 2, Final 3)
The AviRings Derby Pro final flight consists of 3 races from distances of at least 500 km. That means that pigeons compete in 3x 500km races. The pigeon with the lowest total time in those three races will be the final winner of the AviRings Derby Pro 2025 season.
Final Races - 3 Races (>500km)
The final races will be – if conditions permit – started from a distance of approx. 505 km, offering a fair test for pigeons' skills. The release of pigeons will be scheduled for the morning hours, according to the organizer's judgment.
The first final race of the AviRings Derby Pro 2025 is scheduled for September 9th, the second for September 21st, and the last for October 4th. If the final races cannot be held on the planned dates, for example, due to adverse weather conditions, they will be rescheduled. The organizer will announce the new date in due time. Monetary and non-monetary rewards will be given for the final races. The ranking is determined by the arrival time of the pigeons, with overall standings based on the total flight time. If more pigeons share the same time, they will also share the same rank. The prizes for such ranks will be shared equally in this case. Prize pool for three 500km races is 81.600 €, and the prizes for each final flight (3x) are distributed as follows:

Special Competitions
Jersey Team Competition
The Jersey competition is a new addition to the 2025 edition and represents a team-based competition. The team consists of a maximum of 5 pigeons. All teams must be settled by the first official race, which means fanciers with more than 5 pigeons can set their teams (A, B, C, …) according to their wishes. At least two birds must be in the team, and a maximum of five.
At each official race, the average flight time of the 2 best pigeons from the team counts for the Jersey competition. The best result on the single race represents the title ‘Fancier of the Race’.
Each of the nine ‘Fanciers of the Race’ will be awarded a free team (5 pigeons) in the 2026 edition of AviRings Derby Pro. (Prize pool of 9.000 € for ‘Fancier of the Race’).
After nine official races, we will determine the ‘Jersey Winner’.
Top 5 Teams also receive monetary prizes:

Lucky Loser Award

[1] Initial prize schema was made for 2750 pigeons and was also put on flyers for the 2025 season. The prize schema was adjusted on 30.6.2025 as the collection period finished.
Auction
Pigeons that successfully finish the program (final races) will be auctioned online.
Pigeons are usually auctioned at AviRings Auction (an auction portal that is part of the AviRings group). The gender of the young pigeons at the auction is only presumed, and the auction organizer is not responsible for the wrong gender presumption.
In this case, the auction proceeds will be shared equally between the organizer and the participant who originally registered the pigeon (50:50 split). Participants’ shares will be paid through bank transfers. The auction will be announced in due time through the website: https://derby.avirings.com.
Pigeons that are not sold in the first attempt will be auctioned again later in the AviRings auction. If they are not sold again, they become AviRings Derby's property.
Some pigeons (with interesting results) can also be auctioned at other online auctions by our partners (for example, PIPA). In this case, auction proceeds will be shared between the derby organizer, participant, and auction partner in the following shares: 30:35:35. Before dividing from each pigeon winning amount will be deducted the general costs of the organization of such auction in a proportional amount (photos, DNK, transport costs, etc.).
Other
If a pigeon gets lost in the loft surroundings during training, intermediate races, or the final flights, respectively, the registration fee is not refunded. In this case, it is not possible to register and deliver a replacement pigeon.
The organizer reserves the right to cancel all flights. If one or two of the final races of the AviRings Derby PRO 2025 are cancelled, the results for the final cup will be calculated from the two 500 km races, specifically from the semi-final and final races. If none of the 500 km races are held, paid fees, reduced by all organizers’ expenses, will be refunded.
All the pigeons collected up to that point will be auctioned online at https://derby.avirings.com. Fifty percent of the auction proceeds will go to the participant, and fifty percent to the organizer. If some of the scheduled flights 1-6 are cancelled, no registration fee will be refunded.
Pigeons will be registered for the races with an electronic system “AviRings Live”, created by the company AviRings d. o. o., Murska Sobota.
A ranking list will be created for each AviRings intermediate Race, semi-final race, and final race. The race is finished when 33,5% of all released pigeons arrive back at the loft. The announced prize fund will be given out to the 30th place, regardless of this.
Participants are responsible for equipping registered and sent pigeons with a pedigree and ring card. Pigeons without a delivered pedigree and ring cards will not be able to win any prizes.
AviRings Derby PRO does not guarantee the accuracy of the information in the pedigree documents.
